The story behind the studio

The idea began when I wanted to preserve my sister’s wedding bouquet. I taught myself to press flowers using traditional methods and quickly realised how much care and attention the process requires. Every flower behaves differently once pressed, with its own moisture levels, thickness, and response to pressure.
Flower pressing turned out to be far more involved than simply placing blooms between the pages of a book. Some flowers need to be carefully deconstructed and then reassembled during the artwork stage, while others require different papers or pressing techniques to achieve the best result. Knowing whether a bloom presses best face-on or in profile also makes a significant difference.
Exploring these methods, and learning how each flower responds, is what continues to shape the way I work.
